Hi everyone, New to this forum. Have recently moved to Chard and would like to join you on a ride out or two! Been riding for years, quite like touring although not much of that has happened recently. It looks more promising now so more hopeful my planned trip to Portugal will go ahead in April.
Now for the spanner in the works.....yep, he rides a GS! Other bikes include a 1995 FireBlade so it's not all bad.
Hope to see you out there soon! :D

Gs seems to be weapon of choice these days - unless it's an 850GT like my dad used to ride. That was like a tank.

Welcome to the forum, get stuck in and enjoy.

Hi and welcome tot he forum, Hope that you enjoy it here and think its fair to say that you have joined at the right time. As the weather seems to be improving and the temperatures start to warm up the more ride outs get planned. Actually today has seen a bit of a flurry of ride outs if you head to the ride out section you will notice there are quite a few happening over the coming weeks. feel free to put your name down and join in.

Being a BMW rider myself fully understand how its possible to do some mega miles on 2 wheels. however mine is more of a street bike for the weekend enjoyments rather then the GS for full on touring but still really great and if I remember the flag ship model for BMW these days.

Welcome bud.
To be honest, there's not a massive showing of GS riders in the SWB group, despite it being a massive success for BMW, and it appearing on more cross channel ferries than anything else.
My mate's just swapped his Super Tenere for a new GS and we're off to Spain in May, so I'll get an idea of what they're all about then

Hi & Welcome Pete

A fellow Chard'onian here (so that's at least 3 of us now).
I'm not road riding yet (dirt only in winter) but if March is mild I'll consider pulling the the 1190 out, failing that April for sure.

Hope to see you out on a run this year. :)

Either they keep themselves well hidden, or I don't ride the same roads as they do, cuz I haven't seen many on any rides 🤔

Thanks chaps, hope to join you on the 13th. I'll stick my name down a bit nearer the time, at the moment it's my day off so should be ok. Will be good to put a few names to faces!
