3 or 4 Digit Number Plates

Post by nicomallourides »

Hi all, I had a quick question as i was unable to find an answer.

If I bought a private number plate that's 3 digits, would it be 2 on top 1 on bottom or would all 3 o top be legal? Gov website states a minimum of two lines is required so was confused on this matter. And if its 5 digits, is it 4 on top 1 bottom or 3/2 etc I was a bit confused.

Hi Nico, saw the same question on another site the conclusion then was 2 lines , 2 on top or 1 would depend on the letters/numbers you have.

All depends on layout,

If its prefix or suffix aged plate
(As to where the space should be between the number and letters)

I have a 5 digit plate which should be on 2,
Used to run it on 1 though and didn't attract any attention as the letters where the right sizing +margins.
