Hi all :ymhug:
i met a guy working over at "elis" he fixed an electrical issue while i was there .
We got to talking about injures and bikes and i enjoyed the conversation ..
I dont currently have a bike but used to have a 2014 R6 (until i threw it up the road a couple of times ) ..the injures and concussion must have left some permanent brain damage because i still want to get back on and ride with friends.
Im stuck in two minds as to what to ride now that im older (47) should i go slower or bat out of hell like i used too.
Im probably the only person in Britain that has a reversal of a speeding fine (inc points) after being chased (baited) by the police and pulled over at speeds around 120mph ..(also have the cheque to prove it )
I grew up around bikes and often had the engines out doing repairs or upgrades ,started on a simonz ,on to DT50,RD80,TZR125 amongst other bikes .
so ..im looking for advice on whats performing well ,what to avoid etc with the intentions of getting back on a bike .

Avoid gixxer - too many reasons why.

Depends what you want to do really. Plenty of options out there, what's your preference? Speed, track, dirt, touring, fast road etc etc.

When was the last time yet were on the road? Naked bikes have come on in leaps and bounds and now perform as well as sports bikes with the comfort too.

To start welcome to the forum hope that you have a lot of fun here.

Interesting to hear your storey. Having passed my bike test back when i was 17 i then gave up bikes for over 20 years and back in 2010 got my first big bike. After many years of zooming about on sports bikes came to the realisation that massive numbers on the road is going to get you in jail, dead or worse loose your license. Would recommend something lower powered for the road and get all the power you like and have fun on track.

Either way some 2 wheeled fun has got to be done for a bit of fun, freedom and 5 minutes to clear your head from the daily stresses.

The first thing to say is be sensible about your skill levels, and be realistic, overconfidence can kill. Second, and importantly, get something that doesn't scare you and everyone else, a good middleweight should be ample, you can trade up when your skills and experience permit.

Get a Gixxer great bikes if your into sport bikes.
GEN 4 S1000RR / Gixxer Thou K6 the best one.

No.. technically he is correct.
Two KTM's is the correct number to have. :)):
1190 Adventure S, 990 Superduke, DRZ-400E - all the bases covered.

Take a few bikes on test rides and make your choice from there......
There is a vast amount to chose from....
