Cadwell Park 7th August

Post by Everclear1984 »

Heading to Cadwell on 7th August, anyone else already booked in? I've put myself in middle group for the first time, I'm a bit nervous to say the least!

You'll be fine, just ride your own ride and quick to your lines.

Don't be, I stayed in novice for to long, scared to step up to inters when I eventually did I wondered why I'd been so bothered about it, the faster guys will tow you along and before you know it you'll be thinking about advanced group, nice clean lines and the speed will sort itself out 👍

Funds this year mean track days are in shortage else would love to join you. However would support other comments. That putting yourself in the right group is by far the best. Inters is very broad and sure there will be people over taking you and you will over take a few. If you get there and everybody is zooming past you and you feel uncomfortable asked to be moved to Novice.

This year due to cost of living track days are running empty so expect to have a lot of track to yourself.

In my experiance I normally find riding with quicker riders means nobody is in your way and you get on and do what you want to do. One word of warning through when your on it 100% of the time you come off track way more exhausted then you would have ever been back in Novice where your slowing down for people.

When I made the jump up to fast group the 1st time I did it I was done by lunch time, slept for an hour after lunch and missed the 5th session then got back out for the 6th and 7th.

Thanks for the replies guys, I forgot to turn on notifications.

It wouldn't be fair to some of the more nervous newcomers for me to stay in novice group so I know I'm doing the right thing moving up a group. I'm sure once I get that first session out of the way I'll be a lot happier!
Every trackday I've done in the past few years has had room to move around the groups which is very reassuring :)

What an awesome day! I felt pretty good in middle group, obviously there were plenty of people faster than me, but I didn't embarrass myself :))

I don't have any photos yet, but here's a bit of footage :)

Glad you enjoyed it.. looking great in inters there. We seeing you in Andalucia this year then??
A few of us went to Cadwell a few weeks ago. It's epic...
Prefer Brands GP though myself. :ymhug: :D
Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..

I think I've got one more trackday in me this year, unfortunately it definitely won't be Andalucia!
I'm yet to do Brands GP but I did Indy on my old Duke 690. I have high hopes for the GP track :)

Love Cadwell to bits, but gradually getting to love Oulton a bit more, taken me a loooong time to get my head around it though, Donny was always a bit of a "meh" circuit for me but now it's been resurfaced I'm loving the new grip levels
