Unfortunately I'm unable to pay my respects in person. I'll be somewhere in the Canaries on a big ship, but I'll be thinking of the old boy.
Hope you manage to get a few riders to escort him on his final ride 🙏

It's not a hot link, just the email address to use via PayPal. I think the forum automatically makes hyperlinks out of email addresses.

Done. Only just seen this, and it is so sad to hear. Only met Roy once, but he was so friendly and welcoming on my first ride out with the group.
I'm not really grumpy, just misunderstood

UPDATE # 3

1. Jean (Roy's wife) received the flowers yesterday afternoon (19th Oct') and is delighted with them. She has asked me to tell you all that they are beautiful and how very much they are appreciated. Also that she is very touched that SWB has gone to the trouble and expense to remember Roy in this way and is looking forward to meeting us all at the funeral and the wake that will follow. Big thanks to Phil The Younger (Tvrv37) for masterminding the flowers.
2. Wake: This is to be held immediately following the funeral and is to be held at the Rumwell Farm Shop & Restaurant, Wellington Road, Nr Taunton TA4 1EJ. All Roy's SWB friends and their partners are invited.
3. SWB Motorcycle escort: There will be no Hearse to follow to the Crematorium as Roy will be taken there privately prior to the service. The family has said that, weather permitting, they would like as many SWB members as wish to do so, to form up just inside the Crematorium gate entrance and ride slowly (and noisily!) to the chapel area just prior to the service starting. I will post full and final details on this when I have liaised further with the funeral director on Monday.
4. The Roy Bulcock memorial fund is going very well, big thanks to all who've contributed so far - see UPDATE # 1 for details of how to contribute if you haven't already. As mentioned in point # 1 above, the flowers are paid for; remaining money plus any more that comes in (more on this below) will be held by Simon in a SWB account for a donation equally split between the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and the Devon Air Ambulance. This is at the instruction and full agreement of Roy's family.

Reference point 4 (above). I will be organising a 'Roy Bulcock Memorial Rideout' as soon as is practically possible after the funeral (and with our weather it may well be in the Spring). During which I will be holding a final whip round to add to the fund. This will then be distributed as mentioned in point 4 above and full details posted for information.

I hope to have only one more UPDATE to post finalising all the details. As in my first post in this topic, contact me with any q's arising.

And thanks for reading this far.

I'm surprised, given Roy's past, that they're not in an old oil can. Makes me smile whenever I think of him and his fondness for "alterations" 😊
