It'd be interesting to compare engines weights between today and the past ....... not had to worry in recent times, but lugged plenty of air cooled GSX11 and GPz11 motors about in the past ...... plus the odd Guzzi and bevel drive Duke twins .....

UP DATE!!!

Some of you will be aware of one of the engine mount bolt holes in the frame snapped off whilst trying to remove the siezed bushing. Thank fully, found someone, with experience of frames etc, who's going to weld it back on. So hopefully will be back up and running...
However, I maybe bought a replacement bike in the mean time... Red5 Mk2. All OE road spec, Happy days

That's really bad luck Nick, looks like a fragile part of the frame to be swinging on.

I think if I encounter anything like that in future I'll know now just to just drill it clear.

Bit late to ask this I suppose Nick, but did you try some heat on it first? I'm not talking serious red hot oxy acetylene-type stuff obviously, just warming the area a bit. I used a two-stage hot air blower on the rear hub to remove the bearings on my Triumph recently. That worked a treat, they came out easily.

Siezed bushing sounds like dissimilar metals,
Probably alloy and steel so galvanic Corrosion.

Especially with cast alloy not fun.

Would have looked at a relief cut on the insert to assist in releasing.

As for welding the frame up, it's doable. Just wants to be as clean as possible and hopefully experienced.
