Upgrade to Abba Superbike Stand
Hey all,
Managed to nip up to the motorbike show and got talking to the guy at the Abba stand and he was highlighting the normal Superbike stand that I already have could be upgraded so that it not only lifted the rear wheel but also lifts the front wheel at the same time. Was a £50 upgrade for the extra parts but has done the job.
One thing I had not really realised is unlike a normal paddock stand for the front the whole front end is now free so can turn handle bars as well as spinning wheels etc. So for extra security as well as usual chains front and rear I am now able to also add on the steering lock when parked up in the garage.

Yup could do that and now the wheels are off the ground if i want to change tires at any point or take wheels out then can do that without fear of collapse.

All very smart and useful these Abba stands but you're still scrabbling around on the deck when working low on the bike; you won't see many mechanics using one if they have a choice I'll bet. My old knees are too wonky for that and wouldn't stand for it anyway. My cure is a hydraulic bench and a headstand. Here's mine in action with the Triumph:

ABBA do brilliant products.
The skylift would be my weapon of choice if was in the market for playing on big bikes again.

Skylift doesn't officially support (dah-dah!) the FJR. Would love a bench though. Had one a while back but that was too small.

Yep I was behind it all. Just not sure why lack of a bench contributed to the crash.
