Am looking for a replacement shock for my BANDIT 6, Any suggestions? Have just fitted progressive springs with 15 grade oil in the front.
Any advice greatfully received.

does the gsxr600 shock fit the bandit6?? that should stiffen up the back end..
if not ive heard Hagon shocks are good and not stupidly expensive either.

Hmmmmmm good question, if it fits, and thats IF it fits, a GSXR 2nd off of ebay would make a huge difference for not alot of £'s...

Failing that, time to get the wallet out and start spending the cash, Hagon do a good entry level shock which is not as adjustable as the more expensive erotic ones, but still does the job on the road...

Others to try are Hyperpro, WP, Technoflex NL, Ohlins, and others...

Best thing to do, is have a look on the web, must be a bandit forum out there somewhere thats tried out different shocks then given a writeup on em

Soon as ducati come with them as standard you would be biased then age

I got Ohlins, and they are good, but they are now fighting for the topspot with the likes of WP etc...

Depends how much you want to spend, but you can't go far wrong with Halgon, or even a low spec Hyperpro (you can add features to hyperpro for more £'s)

They are just as good if not better than Ohlins, but the more trick they make the shock for you (they build them custom to your spec) the more you pay

Ohlins is around £300 to £400 I believe

Halgon are around £250 I think ???

Can't see you getting any cheeper than that, unless you can see if a GSXR one fits then buy one on the cheep on ebay

I put a WP on my T5 a couple of years ago and I have been well pleased. I put a Bitubo on Blubird's GPX400R (when it was Andrew's) and it made a lot of difference but still not perfect... bang for buck the Hagon we put on Andrew's Daytona has been pretty impressive but it is definitely not uo to my WP's standard.

Keep in mind though the likes of WP, Ohlins, Penske, Hyperpro are all top end...

I've heard of Bitubo, but not had any feedback from anyone who's used them.

I think Halgon is ideal for a bandit6, at the end of the day it's a street bike not a full on race bike like a Daytona!

Other option I would try is a GSXR shock, apparently from the SRAD range, they fit SV's, so should fit banits too!!! (My suzuki likes to keep things simple to keep production costs down!)

Yer ok Age but he ain't loaded like you are LOL

I only brought Ohlins as it was the only kit to do away with the stupid Rotary damper on my bike, all the other brands as far as I know, worked along side it

Bitubo make good shocks but , expensive and if it needs servicing or its gone wrong you know the italians take their time on shipping parts,
Ohlins are good but the newer ones are harder to set up as they have the new settings (fast corner/slow corner preload adjustments) I use a Fox racing shock on my race bike (R1) Which cost £650 new, and is easy to set up But personally the best shock at the Mo is WP. Alot of race teams are using them this year. still expensive tho!

Could always re valve your existing shock? (K-Tech valves)

I know a chap who fitted a GSXR 750 shock off a s plate apparently no probs to his V plate Bandit 6 he also fitted a GSXR 750 shock to my Bandit 12 but not sure which model though 100% better stopped all the wallowing stiffened it right up.
