Save Castle Coobe Circuit

Please vote to save Castle Combe!

The Wiltshire race track is in danger of closing due to local council changes in the allowed noise levels.

The track would lose the Formula 3 round, the British GT race and all of its Bike meets due to this and would be likely to close altogether....

The track is a favourite track day location for car clubs throughout the year and those would also be lost if the noise changes are allowed.

Please vote.

Thank you.

There must be a danger of people enjoying themselves I expect, so they decided it has to go.

probably rich cockneys who only go there at the weekend and don't like the noise.

Makes me laff I can imagine the next one being...

"Oh I think Silverstone should close the noise is stopping me watch eastenders on a Sunday" PMSL...

End of the day I'm sure somewhere before the track was built in the first place it had to pass planning permission which would have contained detailed stuff about how it would affect the surrounding area....obviously the fact it was built meant it passed this...

For locals to then complain afterwards...well...it's their problem LOL

Not wishing to make too many enemies but.......................
I really dont think it'll be a great loss if it goes anyway to be honest.
I live on it's doorstep but never do any track days there as......
A) Youre not allowed on there unless youre bike is so corked up it sounds like a mouses fart with slippers on. (2 mates of mine were turned away with standard silencers).
and B) It's crap anyway. Just a big oval really.
O.k. let the slagging's begin................

For years some local residents campaigned to stop the speedway at Exeter, because of the noise...

They were unsuccessful...But...Due to the rugby team selling the land speedway at Exeter is no longer happening...

My point is....These people had a freeview of every meet, the actual racing noise was for approx. 20 mins a week over a 2 hour period, they could also watch the rugby, bonfire displays etc all for free... :P

Now they are going to have no view at all, except new houses that are to built there, creating less parking and probably anti social behaviour on their doorstep...I would prefer the sports myself.

Now the people who live near Westpoint have stopped the Speedway going there too... the same people who complain about the noise from the South West Bike show once a year...

What is the matter with some people...if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, ask for discounted tickets for residents and get yourself along to watch...who knows you might even bring some excitement into your sad miserable lives...

By the way...I love Speedway with a passion... 8) so it's off to Taunton this year, until the Falcons re-locate.
