Dead ZXR HELP

Post by dodgy »

Well went to start the bike earlier and heard a bang (electrical not engine) and all the electrics went no fuses blown at all. I think I hahve a small fuel leak from carbs too.
Anyone have any ideas? Short, ecu blown?
cheers

Its a CDI unit, no ECU. Ignition to the CDI unit, which you know is the ignitor box. The CDI went on mine a while back, means the bike will turn over but wont fire up, no spark there. I had everything in pieces, took my ignition apart completely!!

My carbs I think are Keihin 32mm..

There is just one in there under the seat. I paid £60 for mine from a breakers off a UK bike that had only done 4500 miles. New from Kawasaki is £395...

Yep.. sure does.. stuff left to do now on my bike...

Find fairing, paint fairing
Paint wheels,
Paint swingarm,
Adjust timing (little out causing flames to blow out of can),
New oil cooler,
Chain and sprokets,
Air filter change,
.................

The list goes on and on, I wish my pockets did too!!

It already has a standard oil cooler, but after 12 years of use before me, about 8 different owners before me, and what looks like little attention, its well manky and could do with changing, same with radiator, I'm not sure either are working properly, definately not to there full potential..
