Bike to Bike Comms...

Post by sonic »

i use this set-up for bike to bike, as do most of mates. couple have got motorola but any personal radio does the trick...

just wondered if anyone makes use of this - its excellent for taking the piss, warnings, getting directions right or just having a chat on a ride!!!

if you are gonna get some check that it uses sub channels as well as the main channels - this gives more privacy and less chance of picking up some kids playing on their walkie-talkies...

as you can see from the photo its smaller than a number of mobiles - so not really an inconvience... cost me £60 for a pair including push to talk/ear piece/microphone boom for helmet.

split the cost with a mate so 30 qiud each - priceless... :P

Don't some of these radios support vox so you don't need a push to talk?

The radios are readily available but where do you get the helmet-friendly mic and phones?

Without wishing to incriminate anyone, are we talking legal speeds. I remember when I was learning, my instructor was always able to keep talking even when we were doing 70mph.

Yeah, yeah, I know, I'll get my coat...
