A biker in Exeter was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday, when his 1200cc Triumph collided with the steel crash barriers on the short stretch of road from the M5 to Countess Wear.

Police still have to identify the biker as he wasn't carrying any ID on him.

Crazy, I saw the aftermath of a accident there a few months ago.

When we had that SWB Go-Karting event, I rode back home quickly just after everyone went to the pub. Saw two guys in the grassy bit in the middle, so pulled over, turns out he went in a tad hot on his Z1000 and slid out, him and his bike went between the railings and lamp post (no-more than 2m wide!) bike had such a pace that it ended up the other side and if it wasnt for the railings on the other side it would had gone straight across that bit!! He was very lucky to be alive without any injuries at all, the bike was well and truely dead tho.

Very Sad  Hope he didn't feel it .......

I've never thought it a "nice" (like those at the other end), the surface feels funny and whatever tyre / bike i've run they've always felt a little "uncertain" being pushed on that bend - I tend to take it gentle there and give it more once straightening up for the right :?

That's very sad news. I hope the police can id him so that his family can get closure.

I came upon an accident yesterday where a biker came off on a corner between Ivybridge and Ermington. One bike was ok (yellow Triumph, I think) but the other was not so lucky. The ambulance guys were trying to resucitate him/her. The rider had a green (kwakker colours) bike. If I was 2 minutes earlier I would have been on top of them. It looks like the rider took the bend too hard and misjudged the severity of it.

Anyone know what the outcome was? I haven't heard yet.

Always sad and shocking news, another sorely missed biker with condolences with the friends and family. I hope they find solace in that it was hopefully quick.
