I want to order a couple of sprockets for my bike, 1 sprockets 1 tooth less than standard and 1 sprocket 2 teeth less than standards just too see what happens really. Can anyone recomend a good make of sprocket and where to get it as my bike eats them anyway at the best of times. Cheers guys.

Front or Back ??? I wouldn't go two teeth smaller oin the front - they are apporaching the limit as they are. If it's for your gsxr a standard SV650S (Curvy) is one tooth less try Sv Ash - he's probabbly got one.

Don't listen to my last post that was about gsxr sprockets well the sv bit anyway.

going down teeth on the front and back doesnt make sence!!

ive always gone down a tooth on most of ym bikes,makes an amazing difference.

maybe if you go down one on the front and UP one on the back that would be much better

dont bother mate - no point...

the front end up comes up easy enough, its got quick accelleration anyway - so no point in gearing down.

also you like your top speed - as demonstrated frequently - gear down and you will lose that.

so i feel theres no point mate...

I have gone down 1 on the front and up 1 on the rear, ok so i have lost some top end......so what But its great for fast acceleration i reckon its the cheapest and most effective mod you can you to your bike

Ok by going 1 smaller on the front sprocket increases the stress on the chain by 8% but by going up 3 on rear (the same as going 1 down on the front) will reduce the stress by around 8%.

So best advice would be to go 3 up on rear.

You will have to increase your chain length !

I meant I was going to order 2 different front sprockets just to see how mental it would be 2 teeth down and the other one just to use normally.

Cheers age I didnt know that, my chains dont last too long before they get stretched as it is.

thats probs cos u run them so bloody tight

talon engineering in yeovil is pretty good for sprockets

Already mentioned, but if your bike is eating chains then they are either really cheap ones, or you need to adjust them and keep them oiled!

Renthal are good, and I'd recommend Band C express. have called them many times at 4pm and had the sprocket the next day.

Talon are also good.
