Got a Mp3 player at mo and had no probs at all with it.
Just bought a new one ready for the ride to donnington next week with more memory but for some reason the stupid thing ain't playing anything i download onto it.
If i plug the "usb" cable back into the computer, it will play what i have downloaded but when i plug headphones into it, all it comes up with is no file found (as in no music downloaded onto it)
Any help to what i am doing wrong before i try and return it please??
Oh its a IItronics make. (cheap i know) proberly the prob

sounds like you have only copied a shortcut to the files... so when you go to play it searches for the file on the PC...
I think!!!

OK when its plugged into your computer go into windows explorer.
Select the songs from 'my music' then right click & 'copy' them
Go to your player (should be called removable storage or something like that in windows explorer) & then right click & paste.
That should do it mate. If not kick it!

I had a similar problem to this with mine some time ago, after I'd used it to transport a data file rather than a music file ......
To get it to work again, I had to re-install the "firmware" from the disc supplied with it - once done all was good again

I took the stupid thing back and got another one and guess what?? Yes its still doing it.
After playing with it for about 3 hours yesterday i managed to copy 1 album to it. Didn't do anything different then i have been trying to do.
But that was it.
Was talking to someone today who had the same prob with thiers and they said something along the lines of downloading it on a WMA format not MP3 format. Not got a clue what they are on about.
But thiers work fine since changing this format thingy.

If you are ripping music using WMP. then the default format of file will be WMA (windows media application) go into the media player settings and change this to MP3. I had that problem with my sony ericson W800i as it wud play MP3 but not WMA files.... No such problem with my spankers W810i
