A bike Headlight Question

Hello there bikers,

I have just bought myself a Suzuki GS500 for commuting to university. However i am finding that most of my travel is at night in the dark and the headlights on the bike are Far from useful.

I hear that this is the Norm upon bikes, headlights are nothing like what you would get on a car.

my journey is mostly through country lanes and i rarely meet cars.

Are there any really nice headlights you can buy that really light up the road on full beam?
Also i have seen sort of add on lights that clip onto your forks that look useful.

Just wondering if anyone has any experiance with anything like this.
Thanks carl

If you have a spare £100, Ash is ordering some mega type of lights for everyones bikes. Zeon lights or summut like that.

PM Him if your interested

Yep, i'm doing a group buy for a twin set of Bi-xenon light kits

300% brighter
Bulbs last 10 times longer
Use less power (35w comparied to standard H4 55/60w)
Bi-xenon which means it works for both hi and dipped beam
Easy to fit 'plug and play' type system with a rely harness with a inline 20amp fuse

£100 8) , usually £120 (£150 off ebay)

PM me for further details

How old is the bike? It may just need a new bulb. A 5 year old bulb will be giving about 75 - 80% of what a new one will give.

But remember, a brighter bulb in a light with a cr*p beam pattern will just give brighter cr*p .....

You need to identify where the problem is ..... you might be better off with a different headlight rather than expensive bulbs :?

Or try fiddling with your headlight aim...

My old gsx550 had a naf headlight. Turned out that the reflective foil on the inside of the headlight was so old that it wasnt really doing its job any more. I put a larger bulb in it and that seems to have solved the problem.

I dont have any experiance with clip-on lights.
