Mel and I went for a ride yesterday by ourselves. Left at about 10 and got back about 4.
Here's the route
Started in Aminster - Chard - Ilminster - Curry Rivel via B3168 - Langport - A303 - Turned off just before Sparkford onto the A359 towards Yeovil - B3148 to Sherborne - A352 to Dorchester stopping to look at the Giant at Cerne Abbus - Weymouth - Portland Bill for lunch - Weymouth - Westbay via B3157 for a drink - Axminster.
Don't know how far it was cos I forgot to do the trip

but the fuel light was just on before I filled up in Aminster and came back on on the way back from Westbay.
Was a cracking ride and the Sherborne to Dorch road is ace, lots of twists.
Lunch at Portland was good quality and not too badly priced
I'm thinking of doing this as a group ride in a few months or so, so let me know if you're interested.

thinking of riding down to penzance now as the wife and her mates are down there on the piss so may use another tank of fuel and probably a kfc too

If your heading down to penzance give me a bell and I'll join you at the treliever roundabout (if you go that way). I'm a big fan of that road and I ended up at a classics meet in penzance last time, there were bikes from the 1930's!

How does 27th May sound? Either that or the 13th cos Mrs works every other weekend, but I know Blimey's got his bbq/machanic thing that day. Otherwise can't do till and of June but cos of Portland would be good to do it before holidays start.
