I had a blow-out on the way to work the other day and had to think quick as to not be late.

As a result my rear tyre is now full of Holts Puncture foam. Was this wise or a bit stupid?

Thoughts please.........

I personally would not use anything that goes inside the tyre like that - there are many issues/faults with them all ....... though no doubt there will be as many replies saying they've never had a problem with them ....

However, in your situation, at that time, if it was the only option for you, then what the hey - you did what was right at the time. I have one of those BMW style "plug" repair kits.

Also depends on how much tyre life there is left - if it's nearly worn out there ain't much issue is there :D

I have a bottle of slime if anyone wants it for free.

I wouldn't recommend it though as when you get your tyres changed it makes a hell of a mess and the mech aren't too happy about it on their tools.

I used it once when the tyre blew out. Put the grean oko stuff in it. Tested to 160 and holds okay. Starts to melt though if you get your tyres too hot.

Only used it to get home and then threw the tyre away.

I've got slime type stuff (can't remember actual name but it's not slime) in my rear tyre and is fine. I had some in the front but use to get handlebar shakes at high speed so took it out.

It doesn't make that much mess when you change the tyre at most of it is in the tyre not on the rim. You just have to give the rim a wipe off.

The tyres gonna be binned now! - It was either get to work and keep my job or lose a tyre......

I'd only done 1000miles on it!! - Ce'st La Vie!
