Just came across the forum so Hullo.
Repairing/riding an ancient xj600 pre-diversion hack.
When I've a spare grand I'd look for a TDM,ZZR etc...
something that can tour, commute, do traffic but
still have a bit of buzz about it.
Meanwhile if anyone has a spare rear shock knocking
about send me a PM and we can discuss a price,
mine's a bit bouncy !!
Then when I've sorted the carbs that I messed up while
sorting the weak spark it'll be all set for the next
30k miles.

What you mean its still running fine, put diesel in it and it seemed to cure the smoking. Give it what it wants
No idea how but the engine and exhaust was full with condensation, got it cleaned out its like a new(ish) bike.
Welcome to the site, im pretty sure the pre divvy an divvy share the same shock, hard to find one in good nick ive found due the lack of hugger an generally used as hacks in all weathers. Mines corroded rusty and pretty soggy. Sell you mine for 50 quid

Yeah i knew you had her up and running properly again bud, just that nickname seemed quite funny at the time (can't remember who came up with it?)
Bristol XJ600; You might even be able to retro fit another shock with the aid of spacers/shims etc if your having trouble sourcing an original part.
