He wasn't exactly slow on the Michelins at the start of the race. Question is can he make Bridgestone tyres last the distance?

In my opinion, Rossi's biggest skill is the ability to ride fast on worn/ knackered tyres (and I'm no Rossi fan boy)

MotoGP has been dull this year and certainly needs to change for next year, especially with the new manfacturers coming into WSB (which has been very entertaining this year)

Who needs a single tyre rule?

MotoGP would be better if Stoner didnt keep chucking it in the kitter litter everytime theres the chance of an actual race. Is he scared of trying to race Rossi and loosing?

My thoughts exactly, tries to get so far ahead so doesn't have to actually race anyone, cos they might get a bit rough  .

if the michelins were that bad how did lorenzo manage to finish a fine 2nd and 2 places in front of pedrosa on sunday

think pedrosa needs to grow up,now hes thrown the toys out he needs to win a couple of races before the season ends to prove it was the right idea and that the tyres make a difference

personally i think he'll struggle in race situations as he cant cope in a battle,if he gets a clean start and gets away it coukd be a different story

I've got the answer:

Single tyre rule - put everyone on Michelins, that will show who's got the ability 8)

Nope, you're totally wrong!!!

The answer is we need to put them all on Honda C90s with 'Golden Boy' tyres

Think about it...... it's perfect, everyone's complaining that the bikes are too fast and one tyre's better than another, this would close the pack up and give us some 'real racing'

That'll sort the men from the boys, and I bet Rossi would still piss all over everyone else

I can definately see the reasons behind going for a single tyre (just look at the effects in WSB), but its MotoGP. Its supposed to be the pinnacle of prototype racing. Bringing in a one make tyre will lead on to one type ECU, liting revs etc - not what a prototype class should be about

But then again, it is getting boring and something needs to liven it up!

Lets hope Dani gets enough speed to give Rossi a race. I fell asleep during Sundays GP.

Rossi just does enough to win. Not a complaint but at least Doohan stayed on the ragged edge til the end of a race no matter how far in front he was. More exciting than Vale but the object is to win not to perform for a crowd.

Casey cant seem to stay on a bike more than half a race.

Tv coverage is useless for the lower field racing.

The championship is Rossi's to lose. I just hope we see some decent racing between now and the end of October.

surely rossi only does enough to win as he has no competition once stoner crumbles under the pressure

do you blame rossi for easing off or blame the others for not being as good as rossi/stoner

for me this year the problem is that now rossis upto speed with the bridgstones no-one else has the consistency to stay there with him hence it becoming boring in some peoples eyes.

Got to agree with you there Deej, I also think Stoner is cracking under the pressure after the Laguna race - as soon as he sees Rossi closing in on him on the pit board he loses it. I figure he probably beat himself up over it after Brno, which would have made it worse at Misano.

I'm hoping Lorenzo stays on form, I reckon he's potentially 'the next Rossi' if you know what I mean, he's quick, not afraid to have a scrap - and he hates that miserable little runt Pedrosa!

Pedrosa and Stoner are both without question excellent riders, but neither seems too willing to 'mix it up' and fight to win.

Neither mate. Rossi is there to win. Thats his job and thats why Yamaha pay him well. Hes the best rider/ bike combination in the paddock this year.

Only thing I'm interested in is close racing. This year I have even cancelled my trip to Valencia for the final round cos its all over already. In one way I hope to be proved wrong on that decision.

Cant blame rossi for winning or the other guys for doing what they do. As far as I am concerned they all deserve every ounce of respect I have. They aint getting my money though!

I'm all for a single tyre rule. I think it will help bridge the gap between the further down the grid riders (obviously there will be some down there  ) but it will it be a more even playing field.

Don't care what tyre it is but it looks like Bridgestone are getting things right. For Pedrossa to make an improvement like he has in just 5 hours of testing on them shows that. They have of course got a long way to go to setting the bike up for them yet and this will be done over the winter testing.

Just goes to show Rossi knew what he was talking about at the end of last season. Ok it looked like a big mistake at the start of this one but now its going his way.

Anything that can be done to make the machines weather its cars or bikes more even playing and not controlled by how much money you have is a great thing all round. Yes i know tyres don't have anything to do with money but you know what i mean

Single tyre rule hasn't improved the borefest that is F1. And as for money being everything, Ducati aren't a big money team (in comparison to Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki) and, before Rossi got going, were making the others look stupid! (2007 season)

Pedrosa hasn't got "it". He admits he hates racing in close quarters (also true to an extent for Stoner), and this is why he'll never be a great rider.
