Re: Ground Anchors
You can make a really good one with a bit of old scafold pipe bent into a U shape. Fill the centre with wet cement & a few bits of reinforcing wire & cement it into the ground.
Don't know if Thatcham would approve it though!

Shame that its likely your chains made of cheese, i think it was in a bike magazine i read at some point saying the most bikes have been stolen whilst protected with a oxford monster lock.Tom1528 wrote:i got a great big oxford chain and wall/floor bracket for around 25 quid off ebay a few months ago. came with wakin great bolts that would take half the garage wall with it if you tried nickin the bike.

Re: Ground Anchors
Was reading somewhere that the best way to chain a bike up is so there is no slack lying on the floor because even the best chains only take a couple of wacks with a sledgehammer to break if there is enough slack to give the thief space to hit it against the floor so i allways wrap mine round a couple of times now to use it all up......
Re: Ground Anchors
I read that article too I think... and I'm sure the chain/lock that came out the best was 'Almax' (?) - still no use if on the floor tho!Johnnyb wrote:Was reading somewhere that the best way to chain a bike up is so there is no slack lying on the floor because even the best chains only take a couple of wacks with a sledgehammer to break ..
