Any mini moto racers on here?

Post by mardy »

I'm getting back into the sport after 2-3 years off.

Any other mini moto racers on here from Devon/Cornwall/Somerset?

I'll be riding at Cheddar and Hullavington mostly but it's a bit dull when you're the only 'local' into the sport.

Any others out there?

At Cheddar they do hire bikes, so you can give it a go without splashing out on a bike...

it's well worth getting a group of mates together and giving it a go, you need a group of 15-20 ideally, that way you're the only group.

did it in cheddar a couple of years ago, absolutely hilarious, great fun it was

Hi !

There are some of us from another forum going on a day out on mini motos, its £35 for the day, well, a few hours really. Its up near bristol way.

We have one place left actually if anyone wants to come along - imediate payment needed though, its this saturday (1st Nov). We are all riding there from Fowlers in bristol, meeting at 9 !

Let me know if you do !

Yeah I used to do it, it never really took off as I hoped! I wish there were more tracks locally though.

I used to enjoy Dawlish, tiny track but they only charged like £2 for the day ;) I didnt get on with Race World tbh, Dunkeswell was good while it lasted although expensive.

Would be interested in Cheddar and Hullavington possibly

Make sure you stretch so you are nice and loose, they're not exactly 'roomy'

Use boots/trainers you are happy to wreck because theres a good chance you will be grounding them out on every corner!

Bend your ankles so the sole of your feet is flat against the fairing/engine casing etc if you put your feel flat on the pegs like on a normal bike they will ground out even easier

The rest is just like riding a bike, be smooth, keep the speed up, dont tense up, try to move your body weight (if possible!) etc

Its a great laugh but you can still get hurt quite badly so be careful, it's not a toy.

Well, I had a big part in getting mini moto's at Raceworld and although they currently don't run mini moto sessions they haven't ruled it out in the future.

So if I know there's more people out there in the South West still riding, I'll start up the mini moto club south West again. When you're a club it's easier to set up track sessions and get new tracks on board. 8)

I'm going to be going Cheddar 1 -2 times a month, so if anyone's interested in coming along let me know.

I used to go to Raceworld when it first started ages ago.
Did a massive highside and bruised my tailbone, couldn't get out of bed the next day! lol

Seemed to die off a but from then, but now I've moved away.

I was at Llandow the other day for a drift event and there was a massive mini moto thing going on up there, couldn't get to see it but looked like pro's and kids with enthusiastic dads!

If you find racing them tricky... try "jumping" them
