Quick query, as I wear glasses for riding at night and on gloomy winter mornings I suffer badly from visor misting and glasses misting. Was thinking of investing in a fog free visor insert, but don't know if it will help with my glasses, or alternately a 'foggy respro' helmet insert wich directs your breath downwards and so no fogging, supposedly?

Anyone got any advice or preference, I'm currently using a visor spray and leaving the visor open a tad, but gets quite chilly lately and in heavy rain I get rain down the inside of the visor which really mucks up the vision.

i have the shoei II raid with the anti mist clip in it. i have had no problems what so ever with it, even if i wear sun glasses it doesnt mist up up.

I have same lid as above and works well, however it doesn't stop your glasses misting up, i never found anything that would work long term, that's why i opted for contact lenses!

kim had a similar problem and went to contacts aswell.

didnt like the foggy, m n p do an insert black or silver. flexie nose bridge, works for me,5 £ also run a fog city insert.

I love my Arai pin lock visor insert it helps to put a lil silicone gel that comes with the helmet around the edge of it though. With the glasses, might be worth investing in a chin curtain, that way you keep the warmth in the helmet as the cold wind cannot get in so no misting up.

Badger - have you got a spare pair of glasses you can keep just for the bike? If so treat them front & back with Bob Heath visor spray exactly as they describe for long term de-misting on the little fold up piece of paper that comes with the spray.

I've done this to the insides of off road goggles (never the outside were they get wet) and it's far more effective than the occasional squirt & polish. If you can keep a 'treated' glasses for just bike riding the coating won't get worn off by general usage.

Still suggest a pinlock/fog city for the visor though.

I know what you mean with this. I ended up trying contacts but my eyes make to much protin around the contact so they itch like fook.

I find that bob heath or the pink stick things do stop misting but then you end up with a layer of water instead which is alfull at night, you can just about wipe the inside of your visor but not your glasses.

I have also had one of those things that stick to the inside of the visor creating a 'double glazing' effect. Brilliant and I recomend them to anyone who doesn't weat glasses.

Washing up liquid I find leaves an oily effect at night.

The best thing I found is one of those foggy type insert masks, but you have to get the shape right. Haven't got one in my lid at the mo but I used to sit my glasess on top the mask, that's how high up my nose I had it. Tokk a lot of fiddleing to get it right but was so much better when I did. For a tenner got to be worth a try

was thinking along the same lines as Mike suggested, especially as I rode to work this morning leaving my visor open a crack, kept things clear, but my face got cold where the neck roll thingy stopped!

Thanks as well Graham,I don't have a second pair of glasses any more but will try the Bob Heath spray ( already use it on the inside of my visor but find the stuff only lasts couple of days at best before re application) on my glasses, as I only really use them for riding and driving. Annoyingly I only need to wear my glasses in poor light conditions as when its sunny and bright my pupils shrink and correct my vision problem ( I'm short sighted) or thats what the optition told me !

If any thing else works ( like that fog free stuff, will check it out promise!) I'll pass on the results .
