Sent my Triumph Speedtona off to my mates at Morpheus Motorcycles this morning to have the middle spark plug hole helli coiled after it blew on my way back from a rally near Helston.
Got a call this afternoon to say that it is all done and running like a dream...

Wicked, just have to sort the tyres, rear brake, T & T then new paint.
I cant wait to get it on the road again, i got the bike in November last year and had 2 weeks use out of it, since then it has been under a cover in my garage

Triumph speedtona? I'd be interested to see what that looks like when it's finished
Unusual for the spark plug thread to strip innit? Why do you think that happened then? Surely not through normal wear & tear.

Well it will look like it does now really, i did a deal on my XJR for it, i saw it and loved the style (saw past the colour) and decided it was time for a change, but numpty here did not read the docs properly. I read the Triumph... 955i checked the frame no's but failed to notice that it also said Daytona not Speed triple....

, hence why i call it the Speedtona, i will be getting that lettering made up for it soon as well... LOL !
BUT... this i dont mind as the Daytona has 25 extra horses and about 16nm more tourque than the Speed Triple, and the conversion is nicely done, you would not tell, even the transfers are genuine Speed Triple.
The spark plug thing i can only guess that some one striped the thread, cross threaded it or over tightened it, when it blew it burned the coil to a crisp too.
