Ok guys i know they arnt big names...at least i hadnt heard of them before i really started looking but tried on a two piece today and the fit was amazing it was like a second skin !! was a bit pricey tho so just wanted to make sure that they are reputable and are gonna last me the time and not fall apart in 12 months or in half a second if i slide down the road....

Also tried on a pair of Alpinestars Goretex gloves but they were fair dearer than i was planning on paying for gloves £160 was only planning on paying about £100 cant remember the name of em but cant be to many surely!! any1 have any experience of or wear these gloves?

Arlen Ness is amazing. The leather is excellent due to, amongst other things, the fact that the cows are reared in fields that contain no barbed wire. Therefore, no imperfections and a quality finish. Did you try the Magnesium? Great peotection with the benefit of an excellent venting system. I know its pricey but well worth the money spent on it.

Regarding the gloves, if you get yourself down to Hein Gericke then you get £40 off a £160 spend anyway so should bring it back into your budget.

Take a bimble down to me in Bournemouth and we can see what else we can do for you

Don't worry Arlen Ness are a very reputable manufacturer, don't know how long they've been around but I'v known of them for years. Several Journo's wear it and they wouldn't if it was no good, wether free to them or not !

Thanks Badger tried on some more different stuff today and just confirmed that the Arlen Ness Magnesium 2 piece is the suit for me unless Amanda tells me something different next weekend

Aren't Arlen Ness leathers made by someone else (Berik?).

You might be able to find a non-AN branded suit which fits the same, has the same quality & will be cheaper than the AN branded equivalent?

nope i think its the other way round, berik is the budget version of arlen ness, think the parent company is madif industries. still a very very good suit as my highside at donnington last year proved,i'd have no problem wearing berik again

Love my Arlen Ness Magnesium suit, also saw that they've got the down at £399 in George White in Swindon las time I was there.

Oh - n I've heard of Arlen Ness toooo.

Also never spent more than £50 on gloves meeself.

I have an Arlen Ness Kangaroo one piece and it is very comfortable even with a back protector. George Whites in Swindon (one in Bodmin now too) have a range of great deals. Why go anywhere else for kit?

Leather is supple, stretch panels work well and perforations keep you cool on a hot day. I recommend Arlen Ness.

As for Berik, i'm not too quick. I know they are a subsidiary of Madif Industries like AN but i have a pair of berik gloves which have not lasted well and i don't get to ride that often. The leather has lost its colour and the velcro has started to come off. In the end you get what you pay for. Mine were from George Whites and kangaroo palmed and cost around £85-. I baulk at paying much more.

Shinya Nakano was wearing Arlen Ness when he survived a 200mph crash, the fastest in MotoGP history, he pretty much walked away from it. Ness has been around for years he is well known in the states as a builder of custom bikes with crappy yank V twin tractor engines in them.
