February 25th + 28th too early?

I've got some holiday booked at the end of Feb and for some reason have got the idea into my head a track day (or 2!!!) would be a good idea!
Am looking at Mallory and Donington but am a little uncertain if my newbie skills would be tested too much at that time of year
Opinions welcome, anyone interested too let me know.

Impossible to say. Currently its not too bad, you could almost have a 'summer' trackday but generally in the winter it's either wet and warmish, or dry but very cold, possibly frosty/icey. It is cheaper in the winter but you get less track time because its dark earlier.
Atleast in the summer it can rain and dry out in an hour or two. If it rains in the winter, it'll most likely be wet the whole day. No harm riding in the wet, but its not half as fun as a dry day, especially if you haven't got wets!

if you plan on doing more td later on then go for it youll get to no the lines and layout of the track just take it steady especially if its cold.

Cheers for that, wets would be advisable then, added to the list
Plan on trying to get up to both again in the summer as I have family in Brum so its a good stop over between the 2.

Ok, have opted for 1 day not the 2. Have booked Donington on the 28th and have taken delivery of a set of wet tyres JUST in case!
Next on the list is tyre warmers, not because I think im going to be pushing the tyres at all but to save the heat cycles on the tyres. Does anyone have any for sale or to borrow for a day ;)

All set and ready to go to Donnington for Tuesday. Am traveling up tomorrow morning so I can see some friends and family (including getting a set of scrubs + a dyno run).
Ysterday it looked like it could be wet, but now its saying dry? Either way should be a tropical 14 degrees so should be good. Ended up having to swap the 600 engine out as it had some running issues (had a spare 750 in the garage). Was a bit of a pain but well worth it on the test ride, smooth and good power now rather than...........no power and ummm not smooth

Stripped and cleaned the front brakes (in the dishwasher again), gave the pistons a polish and it is a night and day difference over what they were before. On the other bike I changed m/c and calipers twice, this was a much cheaer and potentially better solution (that will be seen shortly when the project is finally finished), if I knew what I now know.......
This is how she stands
Bargain £5.50 ebay front fairing I picked up a year ago or so, looks, well, shite but is strong and does the job

Will spray with some black paint at some point, but not top of the list at the mo!

I most certainly did enjoy it! It was amazing, realy opend my eyes and now need to focus on improving areas of.my riding.
Was moist to start off but went out on recetec's, not even the.slightest slip or wobble. Soon dried up and my confidence improved. By the end of the day I felt I was going too slow but that may have been to do with a leaking fork seal that must have blown on the journey up. Was only a slight mist in the morning but by the end of the day it had started to be more of a problem.
I may now be bitten by the bug and loking too book another before llandow!!
Do need to get onto the dyno soon, the only one I now know of is in Exeter. Has anyone used them before?? More on why at some point it the future........
