Rookie Rule Dropped For Marquez

I mean "rookie rule dropped for 2013".

What a joke. I can see the sense in the rule being abolished but what is the point of making these rules only for Honda to change them?! Seems like a Spanish rider, for Honda, in Repsol sponsorship was just too much cake to eat for SPANISH weaklings Dorna. X(

We've already seen Marquez escape several punishable offences that would've had Simoncelli locked up for eternity.

We'll be having a one-make series soon... Oh, wait a minute...

Rant over.

I thought I heard mention of that on the commentary on Sunday, but guessed I'd miss heard, obviously not!

Hmmm yes seems a bit shifty doesn't it? I thought the idea was to encourage satellite teams by stopping the good guys going straight to factory bikes, obviously Yamaha's satellite team coming regularly 4th and 5th is worrying Honda big wigs. ;)

The organisers have sighted the pressure it would put on the sattelite teams, which I can understand as a team like LCR or gresini have their own major sponsors like Castrol. Marquez has close affiliates with Repsol (like Honda), so not only would a sattelite team have to make way for his garage crew, but they would also have to drop their long term sponsors for a season. So, long term it would be best that he go straight to Honda... who have a spare place in 2013...

The only other way of doing it would be Rookies going into CRT teams... But that would be too easy and Honda don't want that...

Spaniards getting favourable rule changes from the Spanish organisers in GPs eh? When have you ever heard such a thing...? :-? Oh, hang on, Italian organisers in WSB and a certain Italian manufacturer having all the rules written and then re-written in their favour... :-l

Good point! I suppose they did try and tackle the problem by putting breezeblocks on Checa's bike to slow it down due to the Ducati's advantage, only for him to continue to win. Would be nice to see Dorna show some testicular fortitude by implementing a weight limit for Moto 2 bikes. They probably will when Marquez leaves!
