So finally I have the chance to do a big European tour, I have the time off booked in the summer and I have a route in mind, even the Mrs is cool with it!!
I am planning on leaving uk weekend of 20th July and returning around 2/3rd of August.
Tunnel - Germany - Ring - Switzerland - France - Pyrenees - Southern Spain - Home.
Not sure whether riding home or ferry from spain, depends on dates etc.
At the moment it's just me but If anyone here wants to come along for all or part of the trip that would be great.
Never toured abroad before so any tips, advice, routes etc gratefully received.

We're doing France onto Andermatt, Switzerland. Ride the passes for a few days then up to Germany ( B500 ) and back through Belgium.
Tesco vouchers can save you money on channel tunnel tickets.
Ebookers have a 10% sale at the moment, enter HAPPY10. Only certain hotels are included so be prepared to spend some time on trip advisor to check out reviews.
Have a look at
http://www.bestbikingroads.com/ to help you plan your route.
Get some breakdown insurance or insure your bike through Carol Nash whose cover includes european recovery.

Yep going on the gixxer, plan is to cover big miles in between areas then take it easy for a few days in each area.
So plan is to leave Fri afternoon and be in nurburg area by Sat afternoon then spend a few days at the ring and the area around then next stop Switzerland and repeat. So maybe 6 days of big miles and 10 to play, sightsee, drink etc.
Probably over 3000 miles all in but day one is over 700 of them.

Sounds awesome, have a great trip
I understand how you've planned it, but personally, I find the travelling part of the experience, so prefer to go a touch slower and enjoy the sights you pass by, stopping at things that look interesting, rather than blast through to cover miles and meet an "artificial" itinery ......
