OK here it is, Im struggling for grip on the tank, so i thought id get myself some sort of grippy stuff to help lock me in.
So off to ebay to see what i can get. A bit of stick on rubber, job done! The i checked out the prices!! Fook me!! Stomp Gripper stuff £40!!
I found some cheaper stuff for about £20, but still, the price seems a bit OTT to me.
Im not sure i want to spend £20, or more, on something that must cost about 50p to make!
Anyone got some cheaper options?

Rubber grip tape for mountain boards. It is about £7 a pair. Don't blame me if it takes the paint off though.

buy the stomp gripp , be worth it if it stops you falling off your bike or losing your line in a corner and would be a lot cheaper in the end , but with that said I know were your cuming from £40 for 2 sticky bits of rubber

They don't make it for the 4xv mate, you have to get the universal pad, it fits it perfectly on the tank.
Follow the instructions though as once it's on it's on. You need heat to take them off.
Stomp grip is very good, there is something called snake skin available too.
If you go to a Snowboarding site or shop you can get smaller tabs of grip that apply to the tank the same way and will be cheaper. Not a case of rip off Britain, they are expensive wherever you try to buy the bike version.

this is a bit specific, but if you have a local company who deal in gaskets and cut their own, have a rummage through their bin or skip and you may find some off cuts of self adhesive foam rubber. We have a company that does just that on a local industrial estate, I now have two knee pads/ grips for nothing

. Bit Blue Peter, but does the job!

Thanks chaps. I think I might just have to splash out, my meat and veg can't take anymore hard brake situations. #-
