After responding to a post about cleaning my Bike, I thought I'd ask what anyone uses/ recommends as a bike specific wash?

My huge bottle of Turtlewax 'Wash and Wax' has finally run out so I thought maybe time for a change and would welcome some options. Pretty boring but go for it anyway !


So go on then, what do you use for soaping up after a hard ride? ................................. !!

Currently using Hein Gerickes own branded gel which is better than Muc off. Tried the S Doc 100 which isn't as good as claimed and expensive. Got 15ltrs of Turtlewax wash and wax for about £16 when it was on price reduction and buy 3 for 2 in halfrauds so will be back on that once the HG stuff runs dry. And Paraffin for the oily bits.

Muc Off, love it. Spray it on, leave it and wash off.

Then use turtle wax Zip Off.

Brillo Pad on the metal parts (wheels, swing arm etc)

Gunk on the Chain (Mr Muscle oven cleaner moose is also good)

Chamois Leather

Then Auto Glym super resin Polish

Gets me out of the house for 2 hours.

I have tried the latest Gunk and Jizer which used to be good stuff before they went eco friendly

Best ever now is SDOC 100 Gel absolutely the dogs B......ks

I've been using the 'Muc off' chain cleaner with good results, so I was wondering about their spray on bike wash.

Have to agree about Gunk not being as good as it used to be, now it tends to smear the grease and chain fling around rather than remove it!

Funnily enough Scorcher, I got my large 1ltr with an extra 1/2ltr free TurtleWax bottle on a deal from Halfrauds too, haven't seen a good deal on it since though, hence considering trying something different.

keep the ideas coming though, we've got a whole winter of washing and buffing to shine to get through yet !

Badger wait til the new years sale at Trago , the concentrated washing up liquid for £1.99 for 5 litres will be reduced

does no one use TFR none caustic TFR 25 litres deliverd to your door for around £20 also it can be diluted
