Got reversed into

Royal mail van reversed into the front of me today. Not too much damage, front fender snapped off and front cowl is cracked, but it's enough to make me unbelievably pissed off.
Luckily I got the whole thing on video, so it's over to the insurance companies now.

not good at all...I take it you were observing from a distance?
Did you approach the driver?
.....sorry mate...didn't see you!.....
Hope you get it sorted soon, glad it's not too bad...

I was on the bike at the time, so had a prime viewing position. Almost forgot to turn my helmet camera on too, glad I remembered.

if its on video then you'll be sorted pretty quickly, Post Office usually pay up with no fuss as its not worth the hassle to argue!
Still a pain in the arse!
BTW, have you had the bike assessed for frame damage? Worth it just in case.

My mate at work got reversed into a few weeks back by a recovery truck. Damage estimate to his Speed Triple was just over £4000. Last I heard was they were going to repair it. Hurt his ankle too when the bike came down on top of it. The insurance may argue you were sat in his blind spot or sat too close, depends on your video I s'pose.

My insurance company are going to pick it up and assess the damage, then claim from their insurance, or something. Impact wasn't too hard, so frame damage is highly unlikely (touch wood). If he hadn't come back as fast as he did there wouldn't have been an issue, but he just chucked it into reverse and booted it. I was a good car length behind him but had no time to do anything about it.
