TT 2015

Ok so I am surprised that there isn't already a thread for this, unless I have completely missed it or something???
Anyway I am one of the lucky few to be going to this years TT and I was wondering if anyone else is making the journey up North to do the same?
Where are people staying? What dates ? who they looking forward to seeing etc?
I am glamping as availability and prices for accommodation were ridiculous to say the least but I get carpet and bed and everything I would need so I don't mind.
I am going just the race week and heading over with my dad and uncle all on bikes so ye I am buzzing for it my only massive massive fear now is the weather as if it rains it will be a complete nightmare!!

can't be arsed with the TT personally.
I see it as a bit like the Glastonbury festival. Too many people go just to say they have been there. Mention the Isle of Wight festival or the NW200 and they look at you blankly.

Ye it is going downhill rapidly I agree but it is still a great race, its like Thailand 20 years ago and today, nice to go see what its about but its turning into a big crack den.
I am glad I didn't go to the NW200 this year anyway, dreading the same thing happening at the TT.
Well it looks like I am the only one going anyway haha

Glamping at a bike meet - really sums up what the TT has become, far too commercialised, not to mention the cost.
Went 7 times from 1989 to 2000, could see the extending speed limits & restricted viewing then. Looking at recent photos, everyone appears to be crammed into smaller viewing areas.
Even the Manx GP is going that way now, particularly the temporary extended speed limits.
Both events are great, the TT because of the pure speed but as bnm8 said, NW200 or Ulster GP are as spectactular.
Each time I go to the Manx, a part of me really wants to go to the TT again but I'm afraid I may be disappointed plus the couple of grand it could cost would pay for a nice bike holiday in Europe where you're guaranteed weather & decent roads (Bol d'or
)

It is what it is you know, I want to be able to experience the TT a some stage in my life and see what the crack is about and better now it seems than in 5 years +
You were lucky to be able to go back then and so many times.
I wouldn't not go because of others, better to have 1% of something than 100% of nothing
The pricing is shocking though and I wasn't going to take the chance for a full on camp for a week in the UK, asking for trouble there but wasn't going to pay out my arse for hotel/b&b either - they have you by the balls.
Will let you all know my thoughts and post some snaps, I am slightly less optimistic now ha but we will see for myself when I get over there.

I know Boylard, Doughballz and Gee went there a couple of years back and had a really good time.

Yeah, I know, was in the area last June. What with my folks frequently touring Europe in their motorhome, it wouldn't take much to pursuade the old man to park up nearby for a week probably next year now.
Just re-read my post and it sounds like I was slagging the TT off quite bad. Just being realistic, it's a lovely place to visit, very much like Cornwall but typical UK motorsport, the pricing takes the pee quite frankly compared to anything else in Europe.

Like si said we went back in 2013.
It wasn't any worse pricing than here,
Fuel was only a couple of pence more. Food was the same.
Camping was cheaper, £5 per person per night.
The only thing is the ferry crossing is expensive but they have the premium.
