So this may already be here somewhere but being new to bikes I don't know where to start in regular maintenance,
Always looked after my own cars and very handy and practical.
Been looking at lubes and wax's for the chain and all kinds of other things!
What do we really need and don't need!
cheers in advance for the help!

It doesn't matter if you use lube or wax, before you apply it ideally you want a warm, chemically clean chain so that the new product will adhere to the chain.
While you are there you can check chain tension and tyre pressure and condition.

I think what you would need to do is list out what areas you would like to know more. That way advice can be directed.
There's no point in someone offering tips on balancing carbs if you run FI or oil changes in engine and forks if you don't want to get dirty.
List out what you are thinking about and we'll see what happens.

with my chain i clean as best as possible using a degreaser and a toothbrush.
I then coat the chain in engine oil and wipe off any excess this gives the orings a protective layer,
coat the chain in chain grease as this is tackier and is a good way to help protect the chain further.
I then seal it all in with a good coating of chain wax, this stops the grease and oil escaping and helps protect it against any water that might otherwise wash away your hard work.
