Visor issue?

Hi All,

I own a AGV K-3 SV helmet. I have been on 2 long rides in the last couple of months where it has tipped it down for around 2 hours. Towards the end of both journeys a drip was coming on the inside of my visor every minute or so, this meant the pinlock wasn't working as it should and things were getting a bit foggy on the inside of my visor and I had to stop to dry things up. I have called Sportsbikeshop and they say they it is common if you are going to be out in the rain that long. Is it common?

I should add that whilst in the rain the visor was always closed.

I am not suggesting I have a duff helmet/visor but haven't been riding long so have nothing to compare it to. Appreciate any input.

Thanks

Glen

I think that's just one of the issues with riding in the rain for long periods me time. I tend to ride visor up a bit in the wet.

I have a K3 as a spare lid and mine does exactly the same thing. It doesn't seal and the after a while I'm going crossed-eyed watching a bead of water rolling to and fro along the bottom edge of the visor.
It has got extremely good venting, so good that if I ride in the rain with the chin vents open the water droplets on the inside of the visor are blown against my face and it feels like its raining inside the helmet.

I'm afraid its a common gripe with this helmet and something you have to live with for the price. On the other hand its reasonably fog-free, very comfortable and not too noisy for a budget lid. Its often my helmet of choice on hot summer days because of the buckets of cool air it channels onto your face. My Shoei feels very stuffy in comparison.

If you do a lot of wet riding, the only option is to get something else.

thanks for the info.

As long as I know ifs not a duff lid then that's fine. I'll just have to make sure i am not caught 200 miles from home in the rain in future!

I tried riding visor up for about 2 mins then couldn't feel my face. serves me right for riding in winter i guess.

Cheers

Glen
