I have a gap in my diary and fancy getting away for a week biking. I stopped for a day in Salamanca in Spain on my way back from a Sahara trip on my little CRF250 before Christmas ... and what I saw of it was fantastic. I'd love to go back on my sportsbike.

Ferry from Portsmouth or Plymouth to Bilbao or Santander and then 250 miles South to biking heaven and a spot of sun. We could do it independently or take a look at the Taunton-based Tour Company mentioned in the article above. Either would suit me. Equally, if anyone has any better suggestions for a destination.

sorry i am in France for AT days French club May. Then Romania in August so that`s all my Holiday funds used up

Stayed in Salamana en route the Algarve a few years back.

Very easy to get to same afternoon from late pm Santander ferry (at that time).

City looked nice, didn't hang around next day as wanted to get to Med that day.

I might be up for it, would certainly like to know more anyway.

At the moment I'm thinking of taking my 990 SuperDuke

Got any ideas of costs?

Very rough guess about £1K all-in I would guess - ferry, hotels, fuel, beer and food
