Just been looking at track days for this new year and have just seen that Castle Combe has now got a noise limit of 105db

So it maybe worth a visit now, anyone up for a visit?

That's interesting they have always been worse then Pembrey for noise limits.

I would love to go but need a hire bike and Smallboys don't support this track

Driven it many times, always concerned me on a bike.
No litter, no real runoff, and if the grass doesn't slow you down the armco will.
One day I'll get past this irrational fear :)
I would call about that limit - noise limits rarely go up. And yes they were always tough on car days.
My RSV4 decat sits at 102dB on my meter - this would be ace if its really landed a 105dB now.

Just called them - ALL CC track days are 105dBA, measured the usual way (3/4 max at 0.5m etc).
Nice - lets book something?

I’m pretty sure It’s always been 105 or at least since 2015 when I first went up there...I took a totally standard gsx-s1000 for a trackday there and it measured 104, so only just got in!!
Also it’s the local parish council that do the noise testing, a couple of old fellas, and by f@ck they’re miserable barstewards...

Just check to see if they still run their sessions like this,

Mixed group - fast, inters & novice riders out together
10 minute sessions
£120+

According to my bike mechanic who also does instruction at Castle Combe on the track days up there, they have a new noise testing man who is not such a miserable old twat and is less stringent than the one who was doing it previously. Think they still run 10 minute sessions up there though.

I like castle combe, it's only 15mins up the road for me. But it's only 10min sessions each hour (6 groups), some book multiple sessions to get out there more. They've always been really tight on noise my z1000 is rated at 100db up there even though it's a quiet bike. They run on Wednesdays.

That is the only real downside for me that they run on a Wednesday, Yes the sessions are a little shorter then the other track day providers but with only 15/16 riders per session it maybe worth the shorter time as you shouldn't be held up as much.

Plus its closer then all the other tracks and is easily reach in under 2 hours for me so a big thumbs up, thinking about a visit in April or May if anyone wants to join.

Bike is in having work done so that's why i'm starting a little late on bookings

Be warned noise is 105db at 3/4 max revs!
My R6 5EB passed at Pembrey, tested as per ACU regs (think 7k from memory). Tested at Castle Combe as per their noise test at 11.5K 😳😳😳 so epic fail at 108 with baffle.
Good luck.
