Hi sorry to bother you but I have a 17 year old son who failed his cbt yesterday cos of some balance problems and I was wondering if you knew anyone in Plymouth who could help him. He has autism but does not like people to know that. I feel that if he spent sometime with someone one to one who help. I don’t have much money but am willing to pay. He should be getting his 125 cc bike this week.

What sort of thing did you have in mind?
Do you have access to private ground in order for your son to practising riding on?

May sound silly, but is he competent on a pushbike ?

Thanks for the reply, the instructor said he has balance issues partly cos he is so tall 6ft 5, gear and throttle control problems, I just thought that if someone could teach him the gears and assist him with the above would be helpful. He was ok on a push bike but has been many years since he has ridden one. We don’t have any private ground around us just Asda car park x

Sounds like your lad could benefit from having a bit of instruction from a riding school tbh, they are very used to the issues your son is having, and quite probably better than 'winging it'....he needs to feel confident and competent so he's safe out on the roads too x

Good for him though, in not letting his autism get in the way of biking - good luck!
