Re: Another Poorly R6 - rich mix/exhausts?
You will still need a jet kit to sort the fueling out, and time to install and set it up. The R6 is a pain in the arse to work on as there is very little room. Generally with a jet kit, K&N filter and set up it's going to come in round the £300 mark.

Re: Another Poorly R6 - rich mix/exhausts?
A free flowing exhaust will reduce back pressure, popping on decelration is usually associated with an air leak in the exhaust system. Get the bike on a dyno and have the A/F ratio checked to see what is going on, generally fitting a race can will alter the fueling across the rev range, so the fueli...

Re: Testers beware
It sounds like the beginings of a back door attempt to make everyone wear CE approved bike clothing when riding. All the EU bullshit laws that are being brought in are slowly killing off personal choice. The anti tamper legislation being proposed would put lots of companies out of business overnight...

Re: Bike Modifications?
I use Adrian Flux, all my modifications are declared and covered on a like for like basis, so I know that if my Ohlins R&T forks get bent they will be replaced with the same, I have an agreed value policy, so if my bike is a total loss they will pay out the amount needed to build a replacement t...

Re: BMAD 29th-1st apil
The little Aprilia was about 30bhp, the CBR was 61bhp and the Bandit600 was about 84bhp I seem to remember.

Re: BMAD 29th-1st apil
Yes I had Laynes MV on the dyno, it produced a lowly 33bhp after I sneakily fitted a restricter when he wasn't looking. Paignton wasn't great, on the friday they closed off the area around where the dyno truck was for the firework display that night which meant people couldn't get to me, so I only d...

Re: BMAD 29th-1st apil
I'm at Paignton again with the dyno truck this year, so if anyone from SWB wants a dyno run, it will cost you only £15 rather than the usual £20 for everyone else. Make sure you introduce yourselves when you fill out the paperwork to qualify. There's also a money off voucher for Hein Gericke given o...

Re: Bandit 600 oil filter problem
Most people post an introduction before wanting something. The link doesn't work. If the filter will not come off then you will need a strap wrench round it to remove it, or if it has crushed right down then you may need to cut the cannister down and get a set of pipe wrenches on the core. You'll ne...

Re: Maxxis Diamond's
You won't get anything like the grip of Racetecs from Maxxis tyres. If you want the grip then go for the scrubs. Simple choice really if you want the grip then spend the money on some decent race tyres, if you want longevity then get some sports touring tyres.

Re: chain help
Split links are fine if they're fitted correctly. I usually fit them with a blob of silicone on the clip without issues. I'm not surprised that CMS wouldn't sell you a link, why would they? I get a lot of people coming into the workshop asking me to fit parts they've bought on line. I will not fit p...

Re: help needed with zxr400l5
The crankcase halves do not have a gasket in between them. You need a high quality sealer. I use either Wellseal, or Yamabond. Suzuki and Kawasaki also have a similar product which is used for joining crankcase halves together. Do NOT use silicone or Hylomar, or Hermetite etc. Yamabond and Wellseal ...
