Re: 4th Dimension etc
For my claim in October, I was with Carole Nash, and their claim line also sent me direct to 4th Dimension. They did all the usual of offering a hire bike and storage etc. I had ridden my bike home after the crash, so knew it was still rideable, and decided to resist using 4th Dimension. They were p...

Re: Top box
Never had much of a problem with top-box. I find it is far enough back to not really get in the way. If I'm having a particularly inflexible day, then standing on the pegs to get on or off, is easy. I find panniers much worse, as they are further forward and can lead to getting your foot caught in t...

Re: Who's got some winter projects on the go then?
Famous last words. Pulled out the sump plug on the Benelli to find a stray gear tooth stuck to the magnet. Striped out the clutch to find the culprit.

Now starts the search for suitable parts.

New bike day
My BMW K1300S was written of recently in a SMIDSY incident between Umberleigh and Great Torrington, so I've been on the lookout for a replacement. Despite their financial woes, I really wanted a KTM Superduke GT and have just managed to find a good one. Hope to see you out on it on a rideout soon. T...

Re: Who's got some winter projects on the go then?
If you get stainless set ensure they're A4 (SAE316) not A2 (which is SAE304). Interesting; I knew that not all s/s was equal but not what the differences were. So what's the pro's and con's for each of these? Just google: difference between A4 and A2 steel Mainly, Corrosion resistance (against salt...

At this time of year, definitely heated grips. Also like a gear indicator, but otherwise, don't do too much to mine.

Re: Who's got some winter projects on the go then?
The BMW is a bit in limbo, having had an accident on it recently, I'm waiting for the insurance to decide what happens to it. If they write it off (which I think they will) I might buy it back, which then means repairing plastics for re-painting, as well as stripping and repainting the final drive, ...

Re: get looking down the back of the sofa!
I always think it's sad, that bikes made for riding are not used. I understand if you've got something rare, that you might use it sparingly, but not at all? I don't get that.

Llandow Track Day 28/6/24 Novice group
Just a couple of videos from the day for the third and fifth sessions. It has been great to watch videos from the other sessions, so I can see where I need to improve (the slow bits particularly)

Re: Hello from Plymouth
Hi Jim, and Welcome. I'm a Combe regular as well, was there on Wednesday, and booked in for 2 more in July. I ride a Black and White R1 in the Inters group. If you are on any more later in the year, post in the Track days section, and people can look out for you.

Mallory Park 19th April
I've just made a last minute booking onto the No Limits day at Mallory on Friday, and am wondering if anyone else is going? I'll be in the novice group, Black and white R1. I've done one previous day there, and quite enjoyed it, even though it is a shorter and relatively simple track. It is a bit of...

Re: It would seem that I am a bit of an idiot
I didn't know this was a thing, so reckon I'd have made exactly the same mistake. Fortunately, I can't get my knee down, so mine will last forever
