oil level check
Just bought my son a YZF 125 somebody told it me only holds 700ml of oil in engine,cos it holds so little u have to really keep an eye on the level or blow engine.
My stupid question is when u check oil obviously with bike upright u take dipstick out and wipe it off do u screw it in and take it out to check level or just put it in to threads then take out
Says on internet not to screw it in which would make level a lot higher?
Any ideas?

Re: oil level check
Convention with most other bikes is to just rest it back on top, not to screw back in ...... but as said, RTFM
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....
Handle stressful situations like a dog - If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away

Re: oil level check
In my triumph haynes manual it says to screw it back in. Personally I never checked before, I just thought to screw it in anyway.
Running on MT
Re: oil level check
Had a R125 & CBF125 when returned to biking 3 years ago.
DO NOT screw the dipstick back in.
If in doubt here is a link for the manual;
