brake pad brands

Post by Ruffian »

Im building a bike for tracking and wondered what brand of pads people use,

I know keep to branded stuff rather than cheap tack,
I have put sbs sintered in the other halfs zx7r but dont know how well they fair up to track use,

Any recommendations or avoidances,

Cheers guys and girls

As I don't do track days I can't recommend any specifics but I always use EBC pads and have never had any quality issues. As for the pad material I just go with what my local bike shop advises, so I'll let the other track day guys give you advice on that.

Either, Colin, Dynamite, Simon (Billinom8s), Layne or Scotty are experienced and knowledgeable in these matters. (I know there are more of you on here, but these guys spring to mind first ;) ).

I went with Bendix MRR's on Sams R6 track hack. Leagues ahead of the EBC's that were in there for bite and feel. There's other compounds available too. Well priced aswell I thought too.

Well I tried a few different ones but didn't help that much on me zx10r so changed master for obw that worked then thought what the hell went the whole hog and changed everything, ISR master cylinder. PFM six pot calipers with narrow track disc's with their own independent s.steel lines.

Now it works, but I'm 2 grand worst off but at least it stops :)):
