Get Yerself A 'Project'

Post by Stinker »

Classic bike auction on Sunday. Nearly 80 bikes up for grabs. Some are in bits but there is a nice 1950 BSA needing TLC for about £300. Also a 1977 Fizzy...remember them...and it's in yellow fully restored...yours for a cool £2500.

Anybody fancy a day out I'll meet ya there

I reckon you'd be doing well to get that fizzy for £2500 if they've done a half decent job on the restoration.

I like the way the lots have been grouped 'in no particular order'.

Two and a half grand for a XS250 =)) =))

Was fancying the DT175MX until I saw the cut n shut exhaust.

Fizzy looks OK but didn't the 30mph/No pedal law came in by 1977?

I like a couple but looks like he prices are quite inflated.
Especially the mini moto estimate between £100-150!!

Like the look of the couple of scramble bikes,

August 78 I believe. My old R reg AP50 wasn't restricted. The one in the auction has pedals rather than fixed pegs so should be derestricted and even though its a cat d it shouldn't hit its price too hard.

Well, that fizzy went for £2,800, despite it sitting in a pool of its own oil and the BSA priced at £3-500 went for over a grand although some of the top-notch stuff didn't sell.
There was some absolute shite there trying to be sold however, not least the remains (and I mean REMAINS) of 3 Honda Cubs that literally had organic matter growing out of them and with no discernible bodywork left ...needless to say they didn't go.
Lastly, boxes of brit bike spares that were priced at £100 ended going for (in one case) over a grand  ...someone wanted something pretty bad

Sorry, I don't get this nostalgia for mopeds. £2800 will get something decent, something that will go along with normal traffic.

I'd rather have an up to date trail/enduro bike to use or even a XT/XL500 if it were just for posing/cruising.

Personally couldn't wait to get rid of my 50 (CB50J - 50mph) and have no desire to get another.

There was a lovely RD 125 LC that made £1400 and worth every penny , was running late so missed the actual auction otherwise the RD could have been coming to Cornwall :-(
