The latest bulletin to amuse you from Hodgeheg Towers....
The joy of ageing Zs. Went to ride off tonight and Mr Clutch he did not engage hardly at all. Got to the end of the road and had to come back with it slipping like mad. May try and nurse it to Gillingham tomorrow but where I live it is a steep hill in any direction to get to the main road and clutch normally needed HA ha ha ha. :o
Bet it has the original plates in it. Hope you all had a nice weekend anyhow.........

is there enough free play in the lever? you just fitted a new cable have you not , you may need to adjust it a bit to get some free play in the lever , wind the adjuster on the lever bracket in a bit and see if that helps

Thanks Mervin ! I will double check but I have been for a good 6 hours riding since I fitted the cable so I fear it is the clutch itself.... :(

Yes been there done that in the past, there should be an adjuster half way down the cable as well , i forget what the procedure is now , but i fitted one a couple of years back , and was adjusting for a while until it settled

Usually it's a question of getting the resting position of the lever on the worm drive right ......

...... and working from there via any mid-cable adjuster back to the 'bar lever.

I lovingly fitted it as such with the requisite freeplay and it was great for the road trip then next time I wheeled it out it was suddenly not great. I reckon someone had twiddled with it while I was at my mates thinking they were looking after poor defenceless born again biker ! :-) They had been making tutting noises.
