always have been , back in the 70,s riding my Yam RD250 I passed my mate on a Suzuki GT250 , when we stopped he said your bike dont half shift I was doing 105 when you passed me , I said strange my speedo was marking 95 ,

I also remember a road test with the kwak Z900 of the time The BMW R90S and the guzzi le mans (le mans used suzuki instruments IIRC) and they said in the test if the le mans had a clock fitted like the BMW it would have to stretch 20 hours to last the day to compensate for the speedo

My Vstrom 650 would be showing 90 on the dash but the sat nav would be showing about 74.

It wasn't quite as bad as that but it was bad. Probably about 10% out.

Suzuki B-King 8.5% fast, Suzuki Hayabusa 8% fast, Yamaha Fazer1000 3.5% fast. Speedo healers on the Sazooks (especially after regearing) and the Yam isn't quick enough to need to bother...

More importantly where the hell is somebody is trying to do these speeds?
Having got up to 135mph at the top end of 5th gear on a ZX636 at Donington It obvious these kinds of speeds are not possible on a 600 but anything with 3 digits need to be kept for the track. Doing this on the road you are really asking for trouble.

Having done some silly road speeds myself was one of the main reasons why my Gixxer 1000 has been sold and i am heading back towards something lower powered and more of a naked bike rather then a sports bike.

Being dead or in jail are not a lot of fun.
