Bloody buggering a**hole laptop

Post by Funky »

My laptop has decided to pack up (after 5 years so it's had a good innings). The power input cable is not being registered or the terminal is broken. Sadly this means I may not be able to grace these pages so much (do i hear cheering)...If anyone knows of a cheap and decent laptop going please let me know...otherwise enjoy the peace and quiet!

Have you tried a different adaptor as what tends to happen a lot with laptops is the heat builds up around the terminal and slowly destroys the tip of the adaptor.
As an example my mate was going to throw away a laptop as it was pretty old and a crap spec so i said i would have it. Laughing and calling me a peasant he handed it over.....£70 for a new adaptor and it works a treat, but the adaptor is now starting to become a bit tempermental and if i look closely i can see the inside slowly melting out of shape.

be veyry careful with it when the adpaters hot as you can lose the little pin in the middle of the charger... if you do it may not charge.

the pin does nothing except let the laptop know its a genuine charger - so with it it wont charge... cheap basterds!!!

thats on my dell anyay but i know a couple of other companies do it... cheeky :x

Hey Funkmaster, if you are in doubt that the charger is working properly, just plug it in, turn it on and use your tongue to test it, its the best way to find out by far
