I'm fine, leg is a bit sore.

I went back to where it happened and collected the bits that came off. Took me a couple of hours but I managed to glue it all back together. Have to see now if the glue is strong enough.


Looking around at new panels, get this. To buy a new one in the UK ranges fro £260 to £290.plus postage.

To buy one in the states, which includes free shipping and on the site says they have to order from Austria - £162 including tax!

What? How? Why?

Did the deer even stick around to see if you were ok?
They usually don't. I think wild life is more of a hazard for late night/early morning rides. I hit deer on my MTX125 when I was 17.
I was travelling at about 6:00 am and was out in sticks. It ran across the road in front of me, I braked as hard as could and it actually made it past... but then it stopped, turned around and ran into the side of my bike!

I stay on (just) but it smashed my ankle into the engine casing, which hurt like hell as I was only wearing trainers.

Nah, it buggered off into the hedge with it's mate.

First time for anything like that in 10 years of early rides.

Beware importing from Amiracle. £162 is likely to be £162 plus £32.40 duty plus £11.60 Parcelforce handling charge = £206 and that's if the US site is free shipping worldwide and not just US mainland. Still cheaper than UK rip off prices, but not as much a bargain as it seems. Hopefully you'll be lucky and not get stung the usual extra charges.
I once ordered some goodies from over there and it had to come in two parcels and got charged duty twice - it wasn't worth the hassle of arguing over the extra £60 that should not have gone to HMRC.
Despite that bit of doom-mongering, fingers are crossed you get the bike sorted soon and so glad you're not badly hurt pal.

I've got a Mate in the states, if I go Don that route i'll get it shipped to him and then get him to ship it to me. Won't be classed as a purchase that way so HMRC can stick it where the gixxers rest.

Went out today and all the glued parts are still attached so it will ok for now I think.

I have had a shock coming home from work in the past at 2/3am in the morning when all of the deer are out on the A380. I guess with the reduced traffic they are being a bit more adventurous in daylight hours.
