[quote="Blimey"]TOMR61 you stumpled on a good point there.

I have always been in favour in getting rid of electronic aids but where do we exactly draw the line.

Ok its easy to say get rid of

1  Launch control = 1098R,R1,ZX10

2  Traction Control = ZX10R 2008

3  Adjustable mapping on track = GSXR1000K6
quote]

All road bikes are equipped with the 3 above things you want banned, most 1000cc sportsbikes have a kinda launch control in the extra butterflies in the throttles to stop you using full revs on them, i know the r1 does and my zx10 definetly did as the spare set i had from dienza had them removed and the mounting holes filled in. at the end of the day its progress and its making the bikes we buy better.

superstock is supposedly the closest form of racing to stock but brogan is running away with on the new fireblade, 4 wins out of 5 so how do you stop that :?:

Deej yeah its better but do we really need it. Man i had loads on my AR 50 and AR 125.

It has made life alot easier for us amatures we all know but try and use examples from previous years championships and compare to the nowadays bit boring safety concious races.

Its all turned a bit tame

Surely you can all see that all motorsports is slowly but surely being spoilt by eithier MONEY (bigger teams havin more to spend on electronics) or SAFETY

If a racer is running away with the championship on a even steven bike to others then that man deserves a medal or 2

Thing is it's not about mods but cc. I don't know what I think about things like traction control becasue yeh it takes away some input and skill from the rider but in that case they'd have to bring back the advance/retard lever.

It seems that Ducati said we are gonna build this bike and you will let us use it. They knew the rules before they designed it. And yes it should apply to Triumph as well. Whats to stop the Jap makes saying right we're not gonna build 1000s now but 1300s only so you either let us use them or no championship. Where do you stop?

Deej says about it being a Honda/Ducati championship, well is wasn't that long ago Suzuki won and this year isn't even Honda/Ducati, just Ducati.

I know there are some hardcore Ducati fans on here (Deej) but you have to admit 200cc is a lot and V twins do have advantages that fours don't anyway. No matter how much you change the rules you won't get a V twin to preform like a four because guess what, it isn't one. So if you want the same prformance as the fours the best thing is to build one :D

Does the 1198 duke have more torque than the 999 duke
thats the difference cos the 1198 has no extra top speed than the il4
the 999 could not win in BSB or WSB in 2007 but the 1198 is running away with it
bayliss had 2 dnf`s and still got a race in hand in the points
also ducati are suppose to sale 100 of the 1098R to enter it in BSB not sale 85 and pre register 15 sitting in the showroom
so really it shouldn't be in BSB

just another case of Ducati suiting there selves
I'm not anti ducati its just if they don't get there own way they throw there teddy's out there pram or say they will pack up an go
at the end of the day who would be missed most the 2 ducati teams or all the il4 teams in BSB
why are there no ducati`s in AMA ?

If I remember rightly they do not allow the 1098 because of cc.

Ducati could not compete last year with the 999 because they could not run traction control As the AMA rules stated that no front wheel speed sensor could be run.

I personaly feel that Ducati should have been allowed to run the 1098 but not 1199 !

I don't know why they don't enter the Desmosedici ...... thats a production bike now, and less than 1000cc

Yep they sure could but I don't think owners would approve after they paid alot of money for an exclusive bike as they would have to produce it on a greater level but would have to drop the price to sell the units on !

theres absolutely no reason why they couldnt but my christ how much would people whinge and whine then

i think there is one being raced in one of the club level championships somewhere in the country this year as its within the rules, fair play to em for racing a 40k bike though
