B-) Steve Burns original Spondon "Monster" ..... It was certainly what inspired the rear end on my old Kat - the tail-light had to be no further back than vertically in line with the rear wheel spindle

Yep definately older bikes make prettier ( sorry should say ' meaner',' butcher' etc.......) fighters.

And modernised updated looks well sweet when done well, I'm thinking of a B12 with a single side swing arm conversion me and graham saw at Hayle one time, I did'nt even notice it until i did a double take B-)

ive been thinking about doing a fighter for a while so been working some ideas out as a speculative project:

based on a sports 600 frame and engine (soo pretty much a 96-99 GSXR or similar year ZX-6R).
nice set of wavy Braking or Blackshadow discs
Radial Forks and calipers / MC (if i had a bucket of money then i'd go WP all out)
Gear it for acceleration (-1 front +2 rear)
goodridge lines
silicone hoses
99 R1 or gsxr K4 rear plastics
underslung 'lowboy' exhaust or an underseat exhaust
2007 triumph speed triple headlights or a custom job to 'match' the rear (maybe a 'bikini' style thing)
custom paintjob (not got round to working out what that would be yet)

but this really is something that i would want to do as a long term project but a- i have no money and b- what money i do have mostly gets spent on the girlfriend who i am slowly trying to get into bikes =)
