Start using public roads as race tracks and your going to end up in big trouble or dead...... give that one a miss thanks.

OULTON PARK SUCKS A BIG ONE !!! there I said it !! for me nothing better than Anglessey on a glorious summers day with the Irish sea to your side and Snowdonia in the backdrop ...perfick

I used to enjoy the IOM, but haven't been able t get back there since 1979......looks like the tracks changed a fair bit since then :mrgreen:

Anglesey is a great place no doubt, and ive had some fantastic days there. Its just a shame its so far away & the weather can be so unpredictable too.

Indeed, the Anglesey weather is a bit on the binary side... I've only ridden the new layout once but raced the old circuit on numerous occasions, and the weather was either glorious, or bleak, wet and windswept... nothing in between. It illustrates the point that the only place you can build (or significantly upgrade) a circuit in the UK is in the middle of nowhere.

Here's a thought: the UK is allegedly embarking on a programme of new nuclear power station builds (I say allegedly as the Wylfa upgrade in Anglesey (ironically) is potentially falling through due to funding issues) - these are generally situated in relatively remote locations, away from major population centres, why not build circuits beside these places? They aren't all at the arse end of nowhere; Hinkley, Bradwell (Essex), Dungeness (Kent), Sizewell (Suffolk)...

Ha ha i'm working on the Hinkley C build, at night when all the knobs (office staff/management) have buggered off, its the best race track in Somerset
