You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Sorry but can't make tomorrow cos got man flu

As for the weather though, just do the ride. If we didn't use our bikes cos of risk of rain then we'd never go out on them in this country. I've started rides in the rain and it's cleared and ended up having a good day, like the SWB summer ride last year. Not like it's a fast ride :D

seems like everyone is in the same boat here.

its supposed to be a fun ride and i don't know about you, but riding around the moors or being stood on plymouth hoe in the cold and wet isn't my idea of fun.

guess this will go on hold till the good weather does decide to make a show, could be next week, could be next month. will keep everyone updated.

sorry

Fair call......However I'm up for a ride anyway as the weather first thing doesn't seem too bad  My plan is to head off from here (Yeovil/Sherborne) about 8am-Cartgate for a coffee, then head down to the coast-Weymouth etc, eventually come back this way to Sparkford to Haynes Motor Museum where it will be the second day of Bike Safe- starts at 10am. Anyone interested call or text in the morning from 7am and we'll meet up somewhere, or post here or pm me-I'll check before leaving. Jon.

Thanks for your company Blue, really enjoyed the ride, we were b lucky with the weather  Hopefully see you on the summer rideout (If that doesn't get cancelled  ).

For anyone interested we went from Cartgate services-Sherborne-Cern Abbas-Dorchester-Weymouth-Bridport-West Bay-then back to Sparkford and had a quick nose around Bike Safe being held at Haynes Motor Museum, unfortunately ran out of time and didn't get the chance to test ride a Ducati  or go for a supervised ride with the Police :( maybe another time.

Why does everything get cancelled??

Why not let it happen and leave it up to the peoples to go or not go

It rained about 0900 this morning quite heavy and although I have seen a few showers nothing else has been around to stop most people riding

If we all rely on weather forecasts we will never get the bike out of the garage at all

this thread was started in January

Just let the next one happen then organise another one if only two bikes turn up then so be it....at least they would have had a good ride out
