Forum rules
You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

sorry boys n girls... just had a very frustrating couple of hrs. It seems BMW fit tyre valves that are too short to inflate the tyres. Sounds daft but 3 garage forecourts later and air coming out instead of in. Known issue after looking on bmw forums apparently...

You missed a good ride Simon and Nick; perhaps next time.

Gutted to've missed this mornings ride :((

Sounds like you had fun :)

Went to just check the tyre pressures at the garage forecourt and the nozzle opened the tyre valve but didn't seal so the air just came out, That was Sainsburys, Tesco and a Shell garage and my own foot pump.

4 out of 4, and googled it. Several forums discussing the issue. Valve body is too short basically but BMW don't recognise it as an error. Feel a trip to BMW coming on

Finally caved in to buying an electric 12v pump with a screw on nozzle, works but not carrying that with me on every ride out :))

Nick, what about removing the outer and just taking the works of the air pump?
This is what I do currently.

No idea how that would work in my little mind Roy...
It's an issue for BMW to resolve for me. They know the valves are short and cause problems but don't acknowledge it as an issue, beats me... B-) O:-)
